Booking, Deposits & Cancellations
Terms & Conditions
All appointments with Gilded Duck Notary Co. require a $25 non-refundable booking deposit at the time of scheduling. This deposit secures your appointment and is applied toward your total service fee. Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit is received.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time will not incur additional charges beyond the deposit. Cancellations made within 24 hours, failure to appear, refusal of service at the door, or inability to complete the signing due to client-related issues (including unavailable signers, invalid or missing identification, incomplete documents, or denial of access) will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
If the notary is en route or has arrived at the signing location and the appointment cannot be completed for any of the reasons above, 50% of the total service fee will be charged to the credit or debit card on file.
Payment Authorization & Service Fees
By booking services, you authorize Gilded Duck Notary Co. to charge the payment method on file for applicable deposits, cancellation fees, partial service fees, travel charges, and any additional services rendered in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
Additional fees may apply for extended wait times, travel outside standard service areas, printing or document preparation, or multiple signers and documents. All fees will be disclosed in advance whenever possible. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Notarial Authority, Limitations & Compliance
Gilded Duck Notary Co. acts as an impartial public official and cannot provide legal advice, explain documents, or influence signers. All signers must be present, willing, and able to present valid government-issued photo identification as required under Massachusetts law.
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if legal, ethical, or safety requirements are not met. Completion of service is contingent upon full compliance with all applicable notarial laws and regulations.
